FAQ

What is the Stock Yield Enhancement Program (SYEP)?

The Stock Yield Enhancement Program allows the company to borrow eligible assets from your Moomoo SG universal account under your User ID and then lend them to counterparties who wish to engage in short selling and are willing to pay interest on the borrowed eligible assets. Interest will be credited to your account every day when the eligible assets are lent out.

Note: Moomoo SG will automatically borrow the shares based on market demand from your account and will not notify you in advance.

What are the precautions and risks of SYEP?

1. Borrowed US stocks may not be protected by SIPC.

2. The borrowed stock is usually used for short selling, which may have an impact on the stock price.

3. The interest rate in the lending market (and the interest you will receive) may change frequently and may fall (or rise) by 50% or more.

4. Moomoo SG may stop lending at any time.

5. The voting right belongs to the stock borrower, and you will waive your voting agency for the shares during the period of your securities loan.

6. If you sell the securities you have lent out, the loan will be terminated and you will no longer receive interest in the loan.

7. Participation in or withdrawal from Stock Yield Enhancement Program may be regarded as a trading act. Moomoo SG is not responsible for the prohibited buying and selling period trading of your listed company. It is recommended that you consult a lawyer and avoid participating in or withdrawing from the plan during the relevant period.

8. Please visit links for additional disclaimer of SYEP.

What assets are considered eligible for SYEP?

Eligible asset that can be lent are: US common stocks (listed on the exchanges, PINK and OTCBB), US ETF.

Who's eligible to enroll into SYEP?

Where can I check interest earned?

Method 1: you can access through: "App > Accounts > Universal Account > More > Stock Yield Program", click personal page to view the income details (including: historical lending details and income ranking, etc.).

Method 2: check the details of eligible assets loaned out (if any) in the daily statement, including the stock symbol, quantity of stocks lent, the interest rate, the amount of interest you earn (if any), etc.

Due to delayed processing during holidays or delayed notification from upstream, Moomoo SG may handle stock lending activities for several days at one time, so you may see records of stock lending for several days in your daily statement.

How is interest income calculated on lent stock?

The interest that clients can earn on stock lending depends on the market demand of the eligible assets and on the interest rate in the over-the-counter securities lending market, which may vary greatly depending on the type of eligible assets and the date of borrowing.

The SBL (Stock Borrowing and Lending) service provider provides the interest rate for the Stock Yield Enhancement Program. Moomoo SG splits the interest income received from SYEP 50/50 with its clients.

Is it guaranteed that my securities will earn interest?

No, it is not guaranteed. Please refer to your daily statement for actual interest income earned.

Can I sell my shares normally after they have been lent?

Lending eligible assets will not affect any of your trading activities, you can still sell the eligible assets at any time. Moomoo SG will recall the eligible assets from the counterparty and settle it on your behalf on the settlement date, after which the lending activity will be terminated.

Does lending eligible assets affect the account's risk control status and purchasing power?

Lending of eligible assets will not have any impact on the risk control status and purchasing power of your account.
